“I took this picture 4 1/2 years ago when Blake and I were counselors at Tahkodah. I distinctly remember taking it because it fully embodied who he was. He had a heart of gold that adored and loved the sweet hearts of children. Heaven gained a beautiful soul that we will forever miss. Love you, friend!” -Erin Gurcheik Clark

“I turned on Pandora to listen to some worship music on this sad, sad day, and I know it wasn’t a coincidence that I heard this song by Gungor: ‘This is not the end This is not the end of this We will open our eyes wide, wider’ Thank you, Lord, for giving us Blake Hunter for a short time. He taught us so much about fun, laughter, and joy. We will miss him so much, but we know this is not the end.” -Layne McLain

There is no denying that you were one of the greatest friends anyone could be privileged enough to have. You were a light. You brought so much joy to my life, Blake. I miss your laugh, I miss your jokes, and I miss your encouragement. Seth and I are heartbroken – we loved you so very much. Thank you for sharing your journey with us.” -Mary McBride Bowden

I had the awesome privilege of being Blake’s youth minister. It was great seeing a goofy kid growing up to be a wonderful man. His love and concern for his friends was just one of his endearing qualities. My heart aches knowing that he is no longer here with us. I hope that we can all feel some comfort knowing that he is with our Lord.

I didn’t know Blake personally, but I was privileged to be in the audience during some of his amazing performances. He was obviously devoted to entertaining people and making them feel joy and happiness in the wonderful expression of laughter. My favorite character that he played was the snail mail man in “Frog and Toad.” His light will continue to shine, and his life and talents were a true blessing. My prayers are with his family and friends.

Anna and I wish for God’s blessings and comfort for the Hunter and Oliver families and the entire Harding family. It was our privilege to have been at Royal Oak when George, Joy, and their wonderful family worshiped with us. God’s speed.

Our grandson, Parker, was a huge fan of Blake, beginning at Camp Tahkodah. His crazy antics in Pipers, his stage talent as well as his caring spirit, warmly touched each of us. We shall always treasure his memory; the joy of heaven has been given even more joy. Marjorie, Jack and Parker Ryan
