Even in the summer, big things are happening in Harding athletics. Early yesterday morning, we received word that during the last school year, HardingSports.com received nearly 30,000 views on our live sports streaming link. An average of 1,131 people per game watched the University’s home football games on their computers during the season. Other sports also had very encouraging numbers.
Also yesterday morning, the baseball team was named the Arkansas Team of the Year and head coach Dr. Patrick McGaha was named Arkansas Coach of the Year by Natural State Baseball.
Just after lunch yesterday, exciting news broke for a former Bison baseball player. Jason Nappi, who just completed his Harding baseball career, became only the third University baseball player ever drafted in the Major League Baseball Draft. He was selected in the 42nd round by the Los Angeles Angels.
Late this afternoon, the Gulf South Conference released its Spring Academic All-GSC teams. The University had 10 honorees, running its total to 26 Academic All-GSC honorees during the 2010-11 school year. Harding’s 26 honorees were the most of any GSC school. West Florida was second with 20.
